Pushing The Limit

April 09, 2020  •  6 Comments

I hope everyone is doing well during this time of uncertainty in our land. We must continue to stay strong and keep our faith that this storm will not last forever and there will be good to come from this. I am writing this blog to try to encourage beginner photographers and others interested in photography to not be afraid to push the limit when it comes to photo edits. You want to have a distinction between your work and other photographers. If everyone is doing the same thing then what will be the reason someone calls you? You want to be sure to continue to work to master your craft. Never think you have learned enough or know it all. Trust that there is more to learn, and if you do this you will continue to grow and be what you set out to be.

In this our third blog we will look at the risque effects of adding dramatic black and white looks to your images. I use Photoshop to add these and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with the results. All of these photos were taken in color and are very nice color portraits, but this added dramatic black and white look is pretty astounding. These photos were taken in my studio, on location, at events, or even a selfie on my Iphone at a restaurant. Your phone can be a great source if there is an image that you need to capture and you do not have your equipment. The quality of the cameras on phones make them serve as an excellent back up to your professional camera. We have to allow ourselves to feel compelled to go that extra step, and not let fear control our destinies. Check out these images and leave us a comment as to what you think and also leave some suggestions for future blogs in photography.
